a pre-summer holiday project...

I have been absent from the blog due to the sheer volume of work I have on at
the moment. I am trying to get all the summer holiday projects made, order loads of new crafting goodies, I had a piece for a local magazine to write and all the while keeping the shop and all my classes running - at the moment I seem to be winning but I don't really want to jeopardise it all by speaking too soon.
Here are the girls tonight working on making the covers of the album above - they sprayed, heat embossed, stamped,  die-cut and triple embossed...
a glimpse of the inside pages - full of mica powders painted, sprayed and dusted...with lots of pockets for notes and memorabilia...
this is them triple embossing - not bad for 7 to 11 year olds...and yes that is a Versamark pad that Rosie is tapping her 0 into - just look at the colour of it - absolutely filthy but it still works just fine. I will show their albums in a couple or three weeks when they are completed.
Right, loads more still to do tonight but hopefully will be able to show another project tomorrow so

signing out for a few days...

At the start of August I taught a class to the ladies showing them how to spray with mica powders and distress re-inkers.
With the sample pages I have made myself a mini journal to take with me tomorrow. I am going to Belgium and then with Tanya to Holland to a trade show so I will be away for a few days - not holiday exactly but visiting with a valued friend and her lovely family and some shopping even if it is buying for my shop! Here's one mini journal...

and here's the other.

This is recycling at its best. The lollipop flowers were made from the kitchen towel used to mop up the ink on the sprayed pages... The inside pages are almost too lovely to journal on but I am sure I can force myself!! Right I'm off to bed - still got to pack but that will have to wait for the morning... so

Q, Mu, Inga

Yesterday the weather was dreadful - it rained heavily all day - it's my own fault for showing you me having lunch in the garden on Wednesday!!! they say it can jump up and bite you on the bum if you're not careful and it looks like it just did!...so after work I snuggled up on the sofa and started my new journal...yes another one... this one is alpha doodling...

The wind has been positively arctic today - down to 6 degrees from 18 on Wednesday - severe drop - there is even snow on the top of Montgo a national park mountain near home.

and lastly here's my 365 challenge calendar up to date...

so I am off to make my hot choccy drink

Whew it's a hot one today!!!

It is really HOT today but thanks to the air con the shop is cool so the heat tools didn't cause too much stress.

I repeated the class from Tuesday and the ladies enjoyed using the mica powders as much as those on Tuesday did. They are using tags to build up a recipe book of products and the techniques using them.

Here are today's ladies...

...and here is some of their work (I don't know why some of the photos have rotated when they uploaded??? as they are straight on my photo site.)

Margaret's

Muriel's

Fizz's

and last but certainly not least my good friend Norah who has sold her apartment and is deserting - going back to the UK boo!hoo! I fully understand her reasons but it doesn't mean I won't miss her loads.

Now off to do some office work - deciding what needs to be reordered, etc, etc its a hard life!!!lol!

so Bye for now

Another week older and... less hair!!!.

Well, where has the last week gone - we're into June already! Next thing you know it will be Christmas...aaagh!!!

I taught classes most days - saw Colin off to Wales for a weeks golf with our two sons and the men he used to play golf with when we lived in the UK - went for a summer haircut - only problem is that when it is warm my hair does its own thing so keeping it longer helps to weigh down the waves but with this heat it needs to be shorter so for the next few months I will be cool but every day will be a bad hair day!! Not a problem for me as I don't look at myself ha!ha! Only looks OK in the photo as I've just got back from the hairdressers but already the fringe is waving.

This morning we had a good class. I explained the various uses of mica pigment powders - it's just a shame the photos don't show the lovely shimmer and lustre on the pieces made....

Off to give the dog and cat their dinner so
Bye for now Sue
