Hi Melva,

...when you were in the shop this morning you said how you followed my blog and loved my 365 Challenge - I couldn't get you to join us in the challenge but I have immortalised you in mine.

You also saw Blaithin and Rosangela start to make their mirrors -
here they are stippling over Tim's mask...

and here they are with them finished. Are they not just brilliant - the girls not the mirrors!! - well the mirrors are pretty good too. Painted, triple embossed, stippled, stamped and cropadiled and distressed flowers. Well done girls.

Right, I am off to do some blog hopping and send a few catch up e-mails to friends and then an early night. Day off tomorrow Yay!!
Bye for now
Sue
ps Q - can you see the new Q tray. Look at the photo of the girls stippling.(for those not in the know we used to use an old apple polytray for rubbish but it took up too much table space) so sorry Dyan but copied your idea for rubbish bin. Hope you don't mind.

Tags for Christmas

This morning we made tags using mica spray techniques...

We polished, sprayed, stamped, painted, resisted and distressed...but unfortunately the camera doesn't pick up the wonderful shimmer on here...

these two are mine...

...and these next two are Erica's...

...and Erica brought in a star book and a couple of Christmas cards she had made...

Well. I am still crawling the walls with the pain and Colin has rung his golfing buddy who does something with manipulation whether physio or other and so I am seeing him on Thursday afternoon. Hopefully, I won't be banging my head on the ceiling by then.

so Bye for now

Preparing for halloween

Now this really is what I call Monday...Sunday before you've gone to bed even if it is 00.46 is still Sunday in my book...

Anyway, this week being half term holiday some children (and adults) are away but for those that still wanted to come to class I made a few atc's for them to take inspiration from.....

both Dayana and Louisa came tonight and painted masks, unfortunately unfinished and made atc's.

Dayana's fabulous atc's..she is only 8 years old...

and wearing her mask....

...and Louisa who is 9 modelling her mask - her super atc's are on the table in front of her...

don't they both look gruesome!!! wish I knew how to put the pictures side by side??

Today's earring watch - these are lime and amber and hand made, bought when we visited La Coruna in the north of Spain some years back...

...think all this talk of Halloween and colour orange are having an effect on my hair - it's looking less blonde and more orange in every photo!! obviously some magic in the air!!!

Well, time for bed said Dougal or was it Zebedee??? so I'm off - nightnight

Another week older and... less hair!!!.

Well, where has the last week gone - we're into June already! Next thing you know it will be Christmas...aaagh!!!

I taught classes most days - saw Colin off to Wales for a weeks golf with our two sons and the men he used to play golf with when we lived in the UK - went for a summer haircut - only problem is that when it is warm my hair does its own thing so keeping it longer helps to weigh down the waves but with this heat it needs to be shorter so for the next few months I will be cool but every day will be a bad hair day!! Not a problem for me as I don't look at myself ha!ha! Only looks OK in the photo as I've just got back from the hairdressers but already the fringe is waving.

This morning we had a good class. I explained the various uses of mica pigment powders - it's just a shame the photos don't show the lovely shimmer and lustre on the pieces made....

Off to give the dog and cat their dinner so

Messy morning

This morning's class was lovely and messy!! I am teaching techniques on tags to keep on a book ring for reference. Notes on the back help to remember how they have done the techniques when they get home.

We distressed, stamped and sprayed before and after masking with Tims lovely masks - however, I do wish the alphabet set came with a black base on which to reposition the letters. So hard to find the correct place to replace them. Moan over - now to show the ladies work.

Chrissie's tags

Margaret's tags

Muriel's tags

Am now off to play with the metal and moulds Colin picked up for me from Lin's shop so

Today part 3

I have just got home from a workshop I did this afternoon. The ladies who go to Lesley's craft group really enjoyed making the set of 5 tags using Grungeboard and Tim's masks. I went to take a photo of the 12 ladies who attended but had forgotten my camera!! I either forget my camera or take it and forget to use it!!! no hope really! I did take a photo of them with another camera but need to wait till the photo is emailed to me.

Anyway, that's my day so far - the rest of it will be spent putting my feet up reading or watching TV. Colin does the cooking in this house so no idea what's for dinner. Oh!I forgot, my friend Ros is coming later to play cards so nothing strenuous so
Bye for now
