Another catch up...and some Christmas cards...

Life is hectic as ever.
With the arrival of Ben and putting arrangements in place for the shop to be looked after while I am away in the UK having cuddles..... and chasing up orders that have yet to arrive????? grrr!......  and then to add to all that, since the weekend we have had some very heavy rain.....the photo shows one of the roads on my drive home - like driving up a river...
and don't you know it the shop roof leaked again but luckily Inga was on hand to mop up yesterday and this was the scene that greeted me this morning - puddles on plastic bags covering the till, credit card machine, etcetc.....

After all that doom and gloom here are just a few of the Christmas cards from this years classes.....I always challenge the ladies and this year colour was the challenge.  How many of you use non-traditional Christmas colours on your cards. Talking to my customers it seems that cardmakers can be very "safe" when it comes down to it. I used red with brown...
 and brown and cream.....
and Halloween papers from Echo Park - aaahhhh!!! orange and charcoal.....how daring !!!
more cards tomorrow...

Now for my lovely girlies... these are some of my class girls with their finished canvases... loads of spraying, stencilling, painting, diecutting and fun...
and these two photos are from Birthday parties that we have held at the shop during October...
this was Izzy's 10th birthday party - all girls...
and below is Vivi's 10th birthday party - 9 girls and 4 boys...
The feedback was excellent from the parties and we plan on hosting more in the New Year...
the canvas was based on one Tanya made in July when she was here on holiday - thanks sweetie - and here's the version that I made on a pre-party trial run..... just needs a photo and its good to go...pity the photo doesn't show all that menacing sparkle and drippy black drips!!! thought the boys would prefer something a bit less girly...
above is Tanya's canvas after a couple of weeks in the sunny shop window - a totally different colour to the one below - how it was when Tanya made it - just shows how quickly things fade here...
.....and I'll leave you with another photo of Ben...
Bye for now

Happy Halloween

Just thought I would try to post the things I made for Halloween...so here goes...
31 October Street has a scary house.....
above is the front...
and here are the side views...

and the back door typically with the cat wanting to come in...

and here is my graveyard complete with coffin, gravestones, lamppost, lantern and skull...
closer view of the coffin.....
close up of the top hat...
this is the house in the display in the front window of the shop...I tried to photograph the whole display but the reflections of cars spoilt the photos.....
and the coffin shaped bookmarks.....the old book is in Polish I believe...
and the trick or treat bag made from a black envelope.....every girl needs a trick or treat bag at Halloween!!!
part of the shop window display..... how good is that old book I picked up at the charity shop and altered...
and an easel card party invite.....

and some happy girls with their coffins.....
and top hats...

and bookmarks and bags.....

Yay, the photos have loaded so expect more catch-ups now I have found out how - I know not the why or the what but don't really care- hahaha!!!!!
Hope your Halloween was good

ps if anyone reading this knows how to add photos from an i-pad please email me - thanks x

omg its October!!!

I came back from Germany - a 16 hour trip - don't ask!!! with a chest infection and even though I am well recovered I don't seem to have caught up. Today, I have a day off as it is a fiesta here in the Valencia region - I also have the day off on Friday as that is Columbus day -woohoo! so time to try to catch up...

Right, well what have I been up to in my absence you may ask??? now, this is where things become difficult. In July Colin bought me an i-pad - omg my new best friend - and I have been taking loads of photos with it but haven't yet found out how to put them on my here - but I will... so bear with me and I will be back on Friday with photos of the Christmas fair, Germany, the 25 cards for 25 euros on the 25th  and all the Halloween stuff I have been making.

Now I am off to empty out two bathroom cabinets that have been acquiring stuff for seven years - who knows what I'll find there

Bye for now

Needed...a bank to loan time and energy!!!

Will someone please loan me a few extra hours but also the energy needed to use those hours usefully. I am sorry I haven't blogged in so long but.....where do I start.
During August the whole world...well that might be a slight exaggeration...quite a lot of visitors descend on Javea. I have girls from Madrid, Bilbao, Valencia who all have holiday homes here come to classes along with other visitors and the lovely girls who live here and attend classes anyway.....and then my youngest son and his wife...the ones who got married in Las Vegas last year...next month it will be a whole year already!!! were here for two of those weeks and of course I wanted to spend time with them which I did and it was lovely as they are such a beautiful couple...
and then customers asked to have a rerun of last years fabulous Christmas market which we did on 8th September..... i made oodles of cards, banners, wreaths, boxes and other samples and over which a few days before I had major panic attacks over stuff not arriving..some of it still hasn't arrived!!! one parcel was at the shippers in Bexhill on Sea on 22nd August and I am told it might be here tomorrow 13th September!!! See what I am up against...
Anyway, all went very well on Saturday...some of my gorgeous class girlies came and demonstrated and showed the lovely products we did have and loads of people came and so all ended happily...
Later today I am off to Germany to a trade show. I am flying to Belgium where I will meet up with my great friend Tanya and tomorrow we will make the six hour drive to Germany where for the following three days she will demonstrate and I will shop!!! Can't be bad eh!!! Oh and we have been booked into a spa hotel...how good is that...
On my return I most solemnly do promise to blog photos of all the goodies that those of you that couldn't be at the market missed. I am typing this on my iPad at the shop while I have a quick coffee break ...right gotta go
Bye for now

settle down with a cuppa for a catch up of July before August is gone too...

I thought I had better get a move on with my catching up as
we are getting well into August so here goes - lots of photos and not too many words so hope you will stick with it to the end...
This birdhouse I taught to the ladies over the last two Friday mornings... much more my colour zone than the yellow one...

 and this cute little caddy...

complete with three notecards and hand made envelopes

lots of smiling faces from the girls with their projects...
a notebook that was painted, coloured and heat embossed, stamped, diecut, distressed, stickled and liquid pearled!

and more happy faces...

a couple of scrapbook pages with techniques...

and even more happy faces...

the 2012 album that was meant to be a 3 week project during June and that took anywhere between 3 and 8 weeks for the girls to complete...

Yaa and I said goodbye to Arlette who has moved back to Holland to live - you'll be missed sweetie...

at the beginning of July Tanya came to visit for 2 glorious weeks - we have lots of fun and laughter when we are together...
we had cocktails...
we had a day at the beach...
she taught the Friday ladies class...
she made a new window display for me...very glittery and so not Tanya but extremely gorgeous...
we were pampered... me on the left, Tanya on the right...
she taught the Saturday morning class...lots more laughter...
and there is so much more but that's all you are getting as I really don't want to bore you...
