A week of repeats...

This is what I have spent my Sunday doing! Making air dry clay foods.......well it beats doing the ironing any day!!! The pizza and breakfast are unfinished - pizza has slices of pepperami on its base but no tomato or cheese and the breakfast tomato is unfinished - my red marker ran out- oh and the tomato on the burger isn't done either...but the cakes aren't too bad. This was my first attempt - well actually my second if you count the faces I made yesterday... so I am not too disappointed with them...

I made these when yesterdays class had left - the lovely Liz Welch had been using air dry clay on her blog and with a spare half hour to fill I made these gruesome offerings... I first taught this marbled paper years ago and was asked by one of the Saturday girls if they could do this... ... and here's the youngsters from Saturday with their marbled notebooks... This is a CD album project I first made last year and Barbara had seen it lurking in the shop and asked to make it -I didn't tell them it took five hours to complete.....

and here they are ... Friday's ladies with their CD albums... I took this into the light so sadly you can't see them too clearly but they are all smiling...even if just the bare bones of the project was complete -they will need to add the stamping and finishing touches at home...my lovely friend Norah (2nd left in the photo) is visiting Javea and came to class - she has been so ill and it is great to see her looking so well...

Celine has been asking for ages to decorate wooden boxes and so on Wednesday the girls sanded and painted their wooden boxes ...after unscrewing all the metal hinges and fastenings of course... Right, I have an iron getting hotter and hotter so I had better go and attack the pile - how come there's so much when there's only the two of us these days???

I have added some writing to my Dina page... her course isn't until the 22nd of March so I am itching for it to start. I'm told it is all about layers so I am doing that bit right - I keep going back and adding another layer. Oh well, only 11 more sleeps until I can find out whether I am doing the rest right or not - impatient - who me? - yes haha!
This was the page before I added the writing...it had gone through 4 layers at this stage

I made a card this morning for my Mum for Sunday and thought it would be a good card for them to make tonight as we haven't made a card in class since before Christmas as we have been too busy with other projects. As ever the mica powders I had planned to paint the flowers with were at home so I had a mooch and came up with the Wet look markers - they worked just fine and the kids always love them.

Tonight came...

Well, you know the saying when you wish a big hole would swallow you up. I fell into that proverbial hole tonight. Celine brought along her sibling and I asked after her sister - goof!!! its her brother. Shoulder length white blonde hair and a dimple - well I thought a girl! but then what do I know!!! take a look at the photo below and hopefully you will see what I saw. Anyway, Benny was delightful and after the initial confusion we got on just fine. Here's Benny, Celine and Melissa showing off the cards they made for their Mums.

On Monday three of the girls finished their Spring albums which are full of things like knots and bows and paper weaving. Complicated stuff when you are 6 years old but they learned it and should be very proud of themselves. The three others have still to complete theirs.
Dayana 9, Mina 6 and Sarah 6

It's getting late so I'll hop off to make my hot choccy and take it to bed.

Yes, they are done.

I'm back in the land of the living, thank goodness.

I mentioned in my last post -how many days ago??? that I had to finish my daughter's Wedding Invitations and I have! Whew! Yes, they are done! All 125 of them.

Many thanks must go to ..... drum roll.....

...Ems (Dyan's daughter) who speedily came to my rescue with that dark green card

...Yaa and her sister who came to the shop Thursday afternoon at such short notice and who cut ribbon lengths and attached double sided tape to the backs of sooooo many pieces of card

...Muriel who located the beautiful ribbon in England.

Stars, every one!

I still have to complete the Order of Service covers but the stamping and heat embossing is done - it just needs matting and layering and attaching. I am hoping that they will be ready to go with Colin to the UK on 27th July but if not they will go with me when I go to the Wedding in October.

*************

I am SO HAPPY because my son and his two gorgeous children Abigail (9) and Joshua (7)arrived from Scotland last night - hence the rush as I wanted time to play with them as I see them so rarely. (Sorry Tanya and Norah for the lack of communication but you can now see why)

This is them leaving Dunfermline 11.30 yesterday morning.....

...and this is them at 8.30 last night.

I was woken this morning with.....
"Granny, can you get up so we can go in the pool"

and then with Grampy gone to golf and Daddy relaxing in the hammock they came to the shop for some arty play.

Abs stamped, heat embossed and painted with the lovely Blonde Moments mica pigments.

Josh made a little house - first time heat embossing - fabby job Joshie!!

...put bugs on the roof!! and drew and stuck pictures behind fragments for door and windows.

and then Granny said "lets get messy" so out came the spray inks and we sprayed and screwed up pieces of copy paper

and added heat embossing and then stuck them to card as covers for a holiday album.

and now Grampy has taken them to the beach for "quality time".

At the end of the month I may get some "quality time" to do something for myself but in the meantime I will just enjoy these delightful little people.

so Bye for now
