what a weekend I've just had

I have just returned from a girl only shopping trip to London to help my daughter Victoria to choose a wedding dress. She is getting married in October at Sandhurst Chapel - John is in the army - she didn't want to be outshone by all those men in uniforms!!! We had a successful trip - I am sworn to secrecy until then - you will have to wait for the photos in October.

Katie, Victoria and Gillian - let me take a photo of you for posterity and this is the response!!!

Well, back to the everyday and a class this morning when I showed marbling with inks and clingfilm to the ladies - sorry forgot camera but will try to do better on
Friday's class.

Gotta go, 4 days away and so much catching up to do...
Bye Sue xx

marbling with shaving foam on 18th and 20th January

the girls had a wonderful time making marbled card with shaving foam...

...and once stamped, scored and folded they are proud to show off their masterpieces!!!

Our day out together - a rare thing

I asked Colin if we could have a day out as I am at the shop 6 days a week and he is at the golf club 4 days a week and we never seem to do anything together. We went to Xativa, a medieval town in the mountains some 80km inland from Javea.

Bailey was in the car faster than you can blink. He loves going out in the car.

We pulled up a few km from Xativa to take this photo. The castle is at the top of the hill on the left.

The police car is a "smart car"!!!

We walked through this lovely park to the church at the top of the hill in the town.

The lamp posts on the main street were just so beautiful!

The town was having a blessing for the animals outside the church. There were horses, donkeys and carts, dogs, a lady carrying a cat, a boy with a bird in a cage and a little girl with her goldfish!

What a contrast! The convent window and door opposite such a lavish door to a house.

We walked up to the castle which is on the outskirts of the town very high on a hill.

We could see for miles and miles! Xativa is the town below us.

We drove home the "pretty" route through the mountains. Dozens and dozens of hairpin bends, twists and turns but we made it home in one piece thankfully, tired but very happy. All in all a fabulous day.

I am now going to make us some hot chocolate and take mine to bed. Night night

The best things come in little boxes...

...or so I've been told. I altered some dominoes and matchboxes this morning with alcohol and distress inks. I had great fun and will certainly be doing lots more.

Have had another idea for tomorrow's workshop so I am off to fiddle about with it again!!!!! and maybe make another domino/matchbox or two!

Bye for now. Sue x

PS A sneak preview of the Tag Along workshop

Playing between customers

This morning I decided to add another tag to Wednesday's workshop - I do that often - even remaking projects the day/night before!!! I got carried away and made quite a few tags, an ATC and a card. Hopefully this will show what they can do once they get home. The workshop is called Tag Along and is a book full of techniques all on tags showing what else you can do with an inkpad.

Must go and have some lunch now as I have to get back to the shop for kidz club at 4.30.
Bye for now

HI, I'm back!!!

and a Happy and Prosperous New Year to you. Better late than never.

Well I've been a long time away. Classes, the shop, working on projects for 2009 workshops and classes, Christmas and New Year with family visiting and quarter and year end books to get done - whew! but I have survived. I know how a single Mum feels!!! my shop = my kids!!! Colin did have a pretty BIG moan "do you ever talk/think about anything but the shop"..... and now my best friend Ros who lives in Jeddah is here for a couple of weeks. She loves to play cards (hearts, spades sort) and as she is here for such a short time we play 51 most evenings. I pleaded a headache tonight.

I photographed the Christmas album the kidz have been working on but the colours are not very true. They are the Ranger broken china/worn lipstick colours and turquoise and pink of the Blonde Moments papers.

Front cover stamped with Paper Artsy stamps and coloured with Ranger Distress inks

Stippled over and through Grungeboard - I love this stuff - it reminds me of the smell of new handbags!!!

Spritz and flick technique behind the lovely Bobby snowman by the artistic stamper and he is sitting on Crystal stickles snow - loadsa glitter!

Front and back covers with Blonde Moment parcels glittered (the kidz just love glitter!!!)

more glitter on the stocking tops ..... and my Santa page was hole punched with the Bind It All on the wrong side!!!!! I'm more dangerous than the kidz!!!!

I was given a blog award by the talented Kate of the Kathryn Wheel in December but sorry Kate, I didn't catch it. Hopefully you will forgive me and I will redeem myself this year and really earn it.
Visit her website at http://thekathrynwheel.blogspot.com/ to see her wonderfully inspiring work. There is a give away on there until next Friday - which of course I am going to win Ha!ha!

My Ranger best buddy, the lovely Tanya Watts has tagged me. I have to share with you 5 addictions so here goes.....

The first has definitely got to be chocolate. I enjoy the British sort, the Cadbury's, Mars, Galaxy type and not the special Belgian or truffle sort. Sorry to all you chocolate purists out there but I am a Philistine when it comes to chocolate.

Second has to be my dog Bailey and my cat Tia. I just love these littlies to death. They are always so pleased to see you when you came home. I spent a very pleasant girly afternoon with Bailey's girlfriend and two of their puppies, Teddy and Kitty (oh, and their Mum's of course)

Third addiction has to be living in Spain. I cannot bear the cold and the thought of returning to scraping ice off the car and a 12 minute journey to work taking the best part of half an hour in heavy traffic when I can be at work in 7 minutes, park right outside the shop even though it is on the Main Road through Javea and be home in 7 minutes and walk the dog through the forest outside the house can't be beaten.

view of the forest from the balcony off my bedroom - not taken this morning

going to the shop this morning - Bailey thinks he is coming too!!..and the oranges are so sweet

Addiction 4 is crafting - especially with Ranger products. The colour palette is so easy to use and suits my style of work perfectly. I also love the funkiness (is that a word??) of Paper Artsy and Blonde Moment stamps.

Addiction 5 has to be looking at other people's blogs! I spend so long usually (not in the last 2 weeks or so) that it leaves me with my head spinning with ideas and so little time to actually do my own work!
So that's me then.....now all I have to do is think of the 5 people I am going to tag. I think I'll leave that till tomorrow as its almost midnight and I was supposed to be having an early night!

I'll be back tomorrow, bye for now Sue x
